We are the only provider of inpatient mental health services for children in Middle Tennessee. You can be certain your child will receive the best possible care from our expert inpatient team, which includes board-certified child psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, nutritionists and mental health specialists.
- Crisis assessment and 24/7 access
Our crisis assessment and admissions program is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our highly trained mental health professionals are dedicated to assisting individuals, families and referral sources in many situations, including: suicide attempt / thoughts of suicide, depression, anxiety, unusual or unrealistic thinking, physical and/or sexual abuse, and alcohol/drug abuse.

We provide a safe place where patients and their families can be comfortable, supported and treated with compassion and dignity. Families can participate in generous inpatient visiting hours, help us develop treatment plans and connect with community behavioral health resources. We encourage family involvement to support treatment and to continue helping patients after they leave our inpatient programs.
- Comprehensive assessment for professionals
The Vanderbilt Comprehensive Assessment Program for Professionals (VCAP) provides a first step toward treatment for professionals whose emotional or behavioral problems are affecting their work and personal lives. Upon referral, our VCAP team evaluates an individual's job-related concerns such as addiction, career burnout, disruptive conduct and stress, providing them with a comprehensive treatment plan.
