Neurology Program

The Neurology team at Vanderbilt University Medical Center offers advanced care to treat brain and nervous system disorders. These types of conditions can cause a great deal of anxiety and fear—particularly when you’re experiencing symptoms and haven’t been able to find out what’s causing them. Our team will do what it takes to reach a diagnosis so that you’ll know what’s going on. Then we’ll work with you to manage it.

Neurology: Why Choose Vanderbilt

  • Experienced doctors: From board certified or board eligible neurologists to our nurse practitioners and physician assistants, every member of our team has successfully completed extensive training in neurology and, in some cases, other specialties. We have the expertise to provide you with the best possible care.
  • A team approach: Depending on your diagnosis, it might be necessary to bring doctors in from other specialty areas to help manage your care. Each of those specialists can be found right here at Vanderbilt. We’ll also work with your primary care doctor to review your records and to coordinate any advanced care you might need.
  • Personalized care: It’s important that you have a say in your treatment plan, and our team will develop that plan specifically for you. As part of that process, we’ll help you understand your diagnosis and determine your treatment goals.
  • Clinical trials: Because we are an academic medical center, you may be able to participate in research that explores new treatments. These clinical trials are not widely available elsewhere.
  • Expert second opinions: A second opinion can help you make the best decisions. We review your medical history, diagnostic tests, any previous treatments and your personal preferences to provide you with an informed opinion.
  • A responsive team: You can use our secure online portal, My Health at Vanderbilt, to message your care team 24/7, make appointments, refill prescriptions or access medical records.
