Vanderbilt has the only sports concussion center in Tennessee staffed by specially trained sports medicine doctors, neurosurgeons, neuropsychologists, physical and occupational therapists, and certified athletic trainers. Our team has the expertise and technology to manage all aspects of your concussion care, starting with baseline concussion testing and extending to evaluation and treatment.

Our board-certified doctors have received advanced training to diagnose and treat sports concussions. Many of our specialists have completed additional training in sports concussion programs throughout Major League Baseball, the National Football League and the National Hockey League. This depth of expertise translates into the best possible care and outcomes for you.

Vanderbilt is the only clinic in Tennessee offering comprehensive, validated baseline testing for athletes ages 5 and older. We recommend athletes have a pre-season baseline test every 1 to 2 years, depending on their age. We offer baseline tests and post-concussion ImPACT tests at our Medical Center East location in Nashville under expert supervision. Our experts serve on the Concussion in Sport Group, which is an international team of physicians who write the standard of care for sports concussion treatment worldwide. They also serve on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Pediatric Mild Traumatic Brain Injury Guideline Workgroup.
