Your Birth Experience at Vanderbilt University Hospital

There’s freedom in the care you receive.

We know that few experiences in life are more important than the way you give birth. And that’s why we are committed to your safety and comfort during this special time.

Our labor and delivery team provides evidence-based high-quality care for women and their families in a supportive, welcoming space. Patients will tell you that there’s freedom in the care that you receive here.

Whether you want an unmedicated experience or need specialized care for a condition that puts you or baby at higher risk, we work with you to personalize your birth experience.

Renovated Labor and Delivery Unit

Our Labor and Delivery unit on the 4th floor of Vanderbilt University Hospital has been recently renovated. All 12 rooms are now open. Our OB Triage Unit, which is where you may be evaluated, has also been updated to improve patient-provider communication, flow and, of course, your comfort. Construction continues in our postpartum unit, where you go after delivery. These rooms are getting a refresh, including paint, new furniture and televisions. Additional re-purposing of spaces and expansions will be announced in the future. We thank you for your patience during this period of exciting growth.
