Overview
The Labor and Delivery entrance is a special entrance to the hospital for pregnant patients who are more than 20 weeks along. It’s open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Access this entrance at the front of Medical Center East, North Tower.
Who can use this entrance?
It’s for you if you’re over 20 weeks and have a health issue related to your pregnancy. Use it to get to OB
Triage and Labor and Delivery.
If you get here between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m., press the button beside the door to get into the hospital.
Call your OB provider before you come to the hospital if you have any of these health issues Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.:
- premature or active labor
- rupture of your membranes
- bleeding from your vagina
- high blood pressure
- pre-eclampsia
- gestational diabetes
- the baby isn’t moving as much
This entrance is not for:
- scheduled visits or procedures like C-sections or inductions. If your visit is planned, go where your provider tells you to go
- issues not related to pregnancy. Go to the nearest walk-in clinic or emergency room.

Park in one of the three purple parking spaces right inside the Medical Center East garage. These spaces are for one-hour parking only. A family member or friend will need to move your car after one hour. They can park in the Medical Center East garage or use the free valet services.
