About Integrative Medicine
What is integrative medicine?
Integrative medicine, sometimes called nontraditional or complementary medicine, doesn’t replace traditional medical care. It complements it with additional, scientifically proven therapies that:
- Address your whole health: body, mind and spirit.
- Are natural and less invasive.
- Emphasize your body’s ability to heal itself.
- Help you partner with your health care team.
According to the Academic Consortium for Integrative Medicine and Health, integrative medicine “makes use of all appropriate therapeutic and lifestyle approaches, health care professionals and disciplines to achieve optimal health and healing.”
Integrative medicine therapies can include:
- Nutritional counseling
