Why Choose Child Outpatient Behavioral Health at Vanderbilt
- Skilled clinicians
Our care teams include psychologists, board-certified child and adolescent psychiatrists, social workers, therapists and nurse practitioners. Our staff includes two of Tennessee’s three pediatric neuropsychologists. This diverse team approach ensures each child receives the best treatment and care plan.
- Specialized assessments
We are one of few programs in the region to offer neuropsychological assessments and testing for children. Our assessment measures the severity of your child's problem. We accept children who may be a danger to themselves or others. Our tests check to see if your child has learning problems, hyperactive or behavior problems, low self-esteem or medical issues that may lead to other emotional problems.
- School-based programs
Our School-Based Counseling Program provides care in more than 40 Nashville-area schools. We have worked with children, adolescents and their families for over 20 years, helping more than 1,000 students each year. Our team includes mental health therapists, nurse practitioners, and child psychiatry fellows.
- Seamless care
Our team works closely with your child's doctors at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt to create a care plan that meets his or her unique health goals and needs.
