Dialysis

Vanderbilt’s home dialysis program is the largest in the region, and the percentage of people we care for with home dialysis is higher than the national average. Our experienced nursing and healthcare staff also provide in-center dialysis at three state-of-the art facilities.

Why Choose Dialysis at Vanderbilt

  • hospital, building, intensive care unit
    State-of-the-art facilities

Vanderbilt’s advanced dialysis machines in three new facilities assure you that your therapy is done with the most up-to-date equipment.

  • property, house, home dialysis
    Home dialysis

We have one of the largest home dialysis programs in the country. We support both peritoneal and hemodialysis done at home. Under the direction of physicians, our nurses help with home dialysis. They will teach you how to do your at-home dialysis, and you will be assigned a nurse to call for questions and help.

  • bookmark, star, Unique expertise, excellence, school-based programs
    Unique expertise

Because we treat so many people on dialysis, we are experienced at moving patients between types of dialysis — starting a patient on hemodialysis and switching to peritoneal dialysis, or vice versa. Your care team will recognize if you need this change and help you make the transition.
