Very pushy about trying to get me to take birth control pills after I stated I did not like them. Seemed more interested in my depression and pretty much told me I was going to kill myself. I highly doubt my depression is causing irregular bleeding, pain from sex, and severe ovary pain. I came here to discuss possible endometriosis from the recommendation of another doctor and we did not even touch on that. I said I was concerned of a hormone imbalance and she laughed and said there's no such thing. I was very unheard and uncomfortable.

This was the first time meeting this physician and I think she's amazing. I love her energy and enthusiasm for caring for patients. She took a sensitive topic and made me feel absolutely normal with what I was experiencing.

My experience with Alison was disappointing to say the least. I scheduled an appointment with her because my primary care told me it was important after an incidental finding in a CT scan. Alison was absolutely dismissive and passive aggressively commenting that there was no need for my appointment since this was so normal. And that may have been the case but I was only following my primary care's advice to discuss my findings with a gyn. She was completely apathetic, rude and even held the door and waited for me to leave (not in a kind mannered way) . My visit with her lasted maybe 5 minutes at most. I told her even though this was so normal I was actually having symptoms. She dismissed all my symptoms and just offered to send in a prescription for me. She had absolutely no bedside manner and I certainly didn't feel like she cared about me or my concerns. Unfortunately I also wonder if I was treated that way because I am a minority. I had to suggest another scan to monitor in case my cyst would grow. If I hadn't said that she wouldn't have ordered it. As a nurse and healthcare worker, I would never make someone feel like they are a burden. If Alison takes any continuing education credits, there is a whole module that talks about how to treat patients and make them feel heard. I left feeling like I was a waste of time to them and would never want to see her again.

When I have issues that go beyond my basic care, Dr. Mulally and the rest of the team listen closely to what I have to say. They work with me to provide solutions immediately, whether that is in the form of medication, a referral, or other treatments that may suit my needs. I have yet to leave Vanderbilt Women's Health Clinic without my needs being taken care of.
