High dose-rate (HDR) brachytherapy

For this treatment, we briefly insert radiation close to or in the tumor over several sessions. We frequently use HDR brachytherapy, which can be done as an outpatient procedure, in gynecologic cancers. It can also be used in certain prostate cancers and occasionally in lung or gastrointestinal cancers.
