Routine breast screenings
Overview
The Vanderbilt Breast Center at One Hundred Oaks is committed to helping our patients maintain breast health at every age. Self awareness is very important in maintaining breast health. Women should know how their breasts feel and look on a normal basis, and if there are any changes, contact a health care provider. For women in their 20s, breast self-exams are an option. Women in their 20s and 30s are encouraged to receive a clinical breast exam about every three years. Yearly clinical breast exams and mammograms are recommended for women 40 years and older for as long as a woman is in good health.
Why Choose Routine Screenings at Vanderbilt
- Comprehensive care
The Vanderbilt Breast Center is a comprehensive clinic that cares for all of your breast health needs. We offer a convenient, comfortable setting and hours that work with your schedule, such as late afternoon and Saturday appointments.
- Latest technology
Our doctors use the latest tools and equipment to provide an accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment plan. Tomosynthesis mammography, for example, is an imaging technique that creates a three-dimensional image of breast tissue to help screen patients for breast cancer.
- Convenient care
We can often schedule your bone density screening on the same day as your mammogram. This means you can get a full evaluation without having to schedule return visits.
