Otolaryngology Patient Care Coordinators
Overview
Our patient care coordinators guide our patients through their journeys to ensure they receive the best possible care. The patient care coordinator for each program can help:
- Schedule and coordinate all the presurgical and post-operative appointments, limiting the trips to be made to the hospital
- Reschedule missed appointments so treatment is not delayed
- Provide patients with a detailed appointment itinerary and information explaining tests and procedures
- Track patients' progress through surgery and recovery to keep their provider informed of their progress
- Facilitate the connection between the patient and their condition and the VUMC care team
- Serve as a personal contact for patients to reach out to for any questions or concerns
