Appointment Check-in Options

How to check in for your visit

When you arrive for your visit, go to the front desk and let us know you’re here. We’ll ask for any information we need, let you know if you have a co-pay for your visit, and get you in as soon as possible.

Many of our clinics now offer self-check-in. When you use this service, you can

  • skip the line at the front desk
  • keep more distance from others if you feel sick
  • make sure other patients or visitors don’t hear your personal information

Check in with My Health at Vanderbilt

The easiest and fastest way to let us know you’ve arrived for your visit is to use My Health at Vanderbilt to check in.

You’ll get a text message from us about an hour before your visit. When you arrive, tap the link in that text message to open the My Health at Vanderbilt app on your phone. Tap the green button that says “I'm here” at the top of your screen. This lets us know you’ve arrived for your visit.

If we have all the information we need for your visit, you’ll be checked in at this point. Have a seat and wait for us to call your name.

If we still need some information, we’ll ask you to log into My Health at Vanderbilt or go to the front desk.

Check in with our welcome tablets

You may also use one of our welcome tablets to check in for your visit. You can get one from the front desk or a central check-in station. Follow the instructions on the screen to let us know you’ve arrived for your visit.

What if I’m visiting a walk-in clinic or Vanderbilt Health clinic at Walgreens?

If you set up your visit online, you can use the My Health at Vanderbilt app to let us know when you arrive. If you did not schedule your visit, you can use a welcome tablet to find our next available appointment time. Be sure to follow the instructions on the screen so we can get all the information we need for your walk-in visit.

Self-check-in is not available at all Vanderbilt Health locations.
