Should I Use Vanderbilt Health OnCall?

Vanderbilt Health OnCall is for adults 18 to 64 years old with non-emergency medical conditions, such as the flu or a minor injury. OnCall is a good option if you:
• Are age 18 to 64
• Have a non-emergency medical condition
• Are in Davidson County, TN
• Can pay by credit card (insurance and Medicare/Medicaid not accepted)

What Services Are Available?

OnCall nurses provide basic care including physical exams and diagnoses, lab testing and prescribing medications. We treat common illnesses and injuries including:
• Headaches and fevers
• Bronchitis, pneumonia
• Colds, flu-like symptoms
• Strep, laryngitis
• Sinus infections
• Diarrhea, constipation, upset stomach
• Urinary tract infections
• Rashes and insect bites
• Skin infections
• Small lacerations
• Sprains and strains

OnCall is not a replacement for emergency service. If you have a medical emergency, call 911.

How OnCall Works

To schedule an OnCall appointment:
Use the online form
• Download the Vanderbilt Health OnCall app from the Apple App Store or Google Play

Be ready to provide the address for the visit, your phone number, credit card, billing address and email. If you request a visit using the online form or app, be alert for a call back from (615) 241-6000 to confirm your visit.

After your visit is confirmed, your OnCall provider will arrive within two hours.

To cancel a scheduled visit, use the cancel feature in the app or call (615) 241-6000. You can cancel with no fee up until your request has been accepted by a provider or within 5 minutes of making your request. After the cancellation window, you will be charged a $15 cancellation fee but not the cost of your visit.

How Much Does OnCall Cost?

OnCall costs a flat fee of $99 that must be paid by credit card at the time of scheduling. Additional charges may include:
• Initial dose of some oral medications: $25
• Lab testing, done at your location: $25

Who Are The OnCall Providers?

All Vanderbilt Health OnCall providers are credentialed nurse practitioners employed by Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Your individual OnCall provider will depend on your location and symptoms.
