Where to Go (Bone Marrow)
When you arrive at Vanderbilt, go to Admissions on the first floor of the Main Hospital during business hours. At night (after 7:30 p.m.) you will report to the Vanderbilt Hospital Adult Emergency Room.
You and your support person will be transported to a regular hospital room where you will be prepared for surgery. This will be a busy time and many staff members will come by to see you to make sure you're ready for surgery. Bloodwork will be done, IVs started, and tests such as chest X-ray and EKG will be done.
Covered walkways connect the garages to the hospital and clinic. Patients requiring assistance can be let out at the entrances to The Vanderbilt Clinic and Vanderbilt University Hospital. Uniformed greeters at both entrances provide wheelchairs and luggage assistance. Valet parking is also available at these entrances. Patients being admitted receive complimentary valet parking.
