Understanding Your Medications
Some of the medications you will be taking may cause side effects. Two possible side effects are diabetes and high blood pressure. We can control both of these issues, should they arise. It's helpful to understand what they are, however:
Diabetes is an increase in the level of sugar in your blood. Symptoms of diabetes include thirst, increased urination and blurred vision. Blood sugar can be controlled through diet, exercise, and weight loss. If needed, a medicine called insulin may be prescribed to help control your blood sugars. This is given by injection. If you do develop diabetes, you will receive instructions in managing this problem and administering injections.
if you develop high blood pressure, we will start you on medication to control it. We may need to try different medications until we find the right one or combination for you. We will also ask that you keep a log of your blood pressure.
