About Pediatric Transplants

According to the Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network, as of December 2007, children under the age of 18 accounted for nearly three percent of the 104,919 candidates for organ transplantation in the U.S. Children were the recipients of over 21,000 organ transplants in the U.S. in 2007.
