History

Vanderbilt Transplant Center is one of the south's premier providers of solid organ and stem cell transplantation. Located in Nashville, Tennessee, the Transplant Center is part of the Vanderbilt Medical Center and Vanderbilt University campus. Organized 20 years ago by Dr. William H. Frist, Vanderbilt Transplant Center is a full-service, multidisciplinary transplant center specializing in heart, lung, liver, kidney, pancreas and stem cell transplantation. Vanderbilt Transplant Center recognizes the value of treating and supporting each transplant patient as a whole person. As such, Vanderbilt's doctors, nurses and staff have always focused not only on one aspect of transplantation but the whole process, from basic research to patient education.
