What is important in treating heart attacks? 

Research shows that the following treatment guidelines help heart attack patients recover more quickly with fewer complications or lasting effects:

  1. Aspirin at arrival
  2. Aspirin prescribed at discharge
  3. Prescription of ACE Inhibitor or ARB 
  4. Adult Smoking cessation advice/ counseling
  5. Beta blocker prescribed at discharge
  6. PCI received within 90 minutes of hospital arrival
