Need a more Comprehensive Study of your Heart?
A Coronary CTA is a non-invasive heart-imaging test that checks of calcium deposits in the coronary arteries. The Coronary CTA is done on a 64-slice CT scanner. This technology:

  • Offers another way to detect coronary artery disease in patients who don't have symptoms
  • Lets doctors rule out heart attack for patients who have chest pain
  • Is a non-invasive alternative to other diagnostic tests

CT angiography can detect narrowing of blood vessels in time to allow treatment. It's is safer and much less time-consuming than catheter angiography and is also less costly. Patients are also more comfortable because contrast material is injected into an arm vein rather than into a large artery in the groin.

CTA can show the extent and severity of atherosclerosis in the coronary arteries. This test can also guide surgeons in making repairs to diseased blood vessels.

Both the Cardiac Score and the Coronary CTA require a doctor's referral. Some insurance plans will cover this test.
