The Vanderbilt Hereditary Cancer Clinic offers testing and guidance for patients with inherited risk of developing breast cancer.
The Vanderbilt Breast Center is affiliated with Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center, a national leader in patient care and cancer research. We are also an National Comprehensive Cancer Network affiliate, performing the latest research into breast cancer.
In recognition for our world-class care, we have been honored with an NAPBC certification and a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence designation. We are certified under the Breast Patient Navigator Program of the National Consortium of Breast Centers for excellence in guiding patients through all steps of cancer treatment.
Women over 40 are encouraged to have a screening mammogram every year. A screening mammogram is for those who do not have a specific breast concern or symptom, such as a lump. If you have a lump or other concern, your provider will want to perform diagnostic testing.
